What Is Your Show Called Tuesday Teatime

What Day is your Show on? Tuesday

What Time is your show? 5pm

Tell us a bit more about you!
I helped set up this hospital radio station in 1973. Following on from Hospital Radio, I worked for a local community radio station in Wirral and headed up a “Community Team” of like-minded presenters who produced speech based programmes, providing a platform for local individuals and organisations with a story to tell.

How did you get involved with Arrowe Sound?
In Jan 1973 I was one of the founder members of Radio Catherine, setting up the fledgling hospital radio service. We had to convince the hospital administrators that we were serious about the idea before they would commit to providing space for a studio, and building it. Our first programmes went out over a weekend in 1973. We then moved into our purpose built studios at St. Catherine’s Hospital in April 1974. The station was renamed Arrowe Sound in 1981, prior to us moving into the new hospital when it opened in 1982

What do you get up to when you’re not on air?
I am a keen photographer, often linking that hobby with countryside walks with my dog. She really enjoys the walks, but gets easily bored when we keep stopping to take photos!

What can we expect from your show?
I play music from the 1960s through to the mid-2010s – making an occasional visit to the 1950s

Tell us something interesting we might not know about you
I won the National Hospital Radio ‘Gold’ award for “Best Male Presenter 2018”.
